- Industrial and Reformatory Schools Act 1893
The 'Industrial and Reformatory Schools Act 1893' raised the age of a child from 14 to 16 years and created separate institutions for 'neglected' and 'convicted' children. In practice, reformatory and industrial schools could be the same institution, or on the same grounds.
