The 'Homes' Herald was a newsletter of the Methodist Homes for Children. The December 1965 edition is held in the Children's Homes File at the Uniting Church Archive in Perth. This edition has a photo of some kindergarten children acting in their Christmas play. There are also photos of buildings and children at the Mofflyn site in Victoria Park and information about the Homes and children's activities.

The new name for the boys’ cottage on the Victoria Park campus was announced in the December 1965 edition of The ‘Homes’ Herald.
Plans for a new girls’ hostel that eventually became ‘Cooinda’ were related in the December 1965 edition of The ‘Homes’ Herald.
The Department of Native Welfare and the Methodist Homes for Children were planning a hostel for Aboriginal girls in Mt Lawley, reported the December 1965 edition of The ‘Homes’ Herald.
The use of funds from the sale of the Werribee Farm School lands was discussed in the December 1965 edition of The ‘Homes’ Herald.
