The Country High School Hostels Authority ran a hostel for students going to the Carnarvon High School from 1964. In testimony to the Special Inquiry into St Andrew's Hostel, Katanning, it was stated that the Carnarvon Senior High School hostel was still operating in 1978 but closed sometime before 1984.
