'On their own' was a travelling exhibition about child migration from Britain. This exhibition was a partnership between the British National Museum at Liverpool and the Australian Maritime Museum. It was shown in museums around Australia, including the WA Museum at Fremantle.
'On their own' aimed to bring the children's experiences to life with photographs, written and audio memories and other memorabilia such as suitcases and ships' menus. These were put into an historical context, with information about the policies, people and events that influenced child migration practices.
An online web resource includes photographs, oral histories, and links to other sources.
