Qualifying as a mothercraft nurse involved months of study and training in the care of infants and young children (generally up to three years of age). The Alexandra Home for Mothers and Babies (Inc) and Mothercraft Training School, and it's successor, Ngala Mothercraft Home and Training Centre Inc., served as Western Australia's mothercraft nurse training schools.
