Third Reading' is an excerpt from the digital copies of the Parliamentary Debates (Hansard) of the Legislative Assembly of the Western Australian Parliament. The third reading is usually just a formality but on this occasion Charles Latham MLA praised the work of the Salvation Army, the Roman Catholic Church and the State Psychologist Ethel Stoneman. He also expressed his hope that the Bill did not pass. 'We do not yet understand the subject sufficiently', he said, adding that with this Bill 'we are leaving our doors open to have the State filled with another lot of mental defectives'.
