The Police Gazettes were created as internal documents that circulated information about Police activities around Western Australia on a weekly basis. Because they contain personal details about individuals (including young people under 18 years of age), the gazettes are restricted for at least 50 years. In 2013, the State Library held publicly-available copies of the gazettes to 1958.
