The Forgotten Children was written by David Hill, who came as a 12-year-old to Fairbridge Farm School near Molong in New South Wales. Hill went on to have a very successful career, including being Managing Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. In this book, Hill tells not only the 'official' history of Fairbridge Farm Schools but also tells the story of what it was like to grow up as a child at Molong. This book is based on personal memories from more than 100 people, diaries, photographs, autobiographies and government and Fairbridge Society records.
