General Correspondence (Classified Sequence), dated between 1920 and 1992, was created by the Attorney-General's Department and its successors. Its many records include personal information about inmates at Risdon Prison and correspondence concerning the Child Protection Assessment Board.
Closed D75 years
D75 means these records are closed to the general public for 75 years from the date of the last entry in them. This means that many of the records in this series are actually open. People wishing to access closed records should contact the Department of Justice. If the records are open, contact the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office first. Staff at the Office may be able to assist you in finding other relevant records.
