An Act For Registering Births, Deaths And Marriages In The Island Of Van Diemen's Land And Its Dependencies made the registration of births, deaths and marriages compulsory. It established the first Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Tasmania.
Tasmania was the first colony to have this Act. It was passed just two years after the British one.
