The Mental Health Act Amendment Act 1959 (Act No.35/1959) was passed and commenced on 3 December 1959. Its long title was 'An Act to amend the Mental Health Act, 1935-1958'. It makes provisions for paying the unclaimed personal effects and moneys of a patient upon their death to the Public Trustee.
