St Monica's Cottage Home in Woodville was opened by the Catholic Church in January 1985. It provided residential care for a small number of children in a family group setting. In November 1986 the Home changed purpose and became a residential cottage with a transitional program specifically for girls aged 15 to 18 who had left school. In 1987 this service moved to Yoorana in Westbourne Park and the Headdy Court property became Xavier Cottage.
