Kolbe Cottage Home was established by the Catholic Church in the suburb of Plympton in 1982. It took over the building previously used as Orana Cottage. Kolbe initially provided residential care for a small number of children in a family group setting. In 2018 it provided weekend and school holiday respite care for children and young people with intellectual disabilities, aged between 5 and 18.
