Glandore Family Home was opened by the government at Glandore in 1972 on the site of the Glandore Boys' Home. It provided short term emergency care for children and temporary care for children on remand. It operated as an adjunct to the Windana Remand Home. In 1975 it was renamed Pleasant Avenue Cottage.

Details

Glandore Family Home was opened by the Department of Community Welfare at 58 Pleasant Avenue, Glandore, on 17 February 1972. It was situated on the site of the Glandore Boys' Home. Glandore Family Home provided emergency and short-term care for children while a family crisis was being assessed or while other placement options were being determined. It also provided temporary care for children on remand, and operated as an adjunct to the Windana Remand Home. Glandore Family Home was reported in Departmental annual reports as caring for four children.

In 1975 it was renamed Pleasant Avenue Cottage.
