This act with the full title "An Act to amend the Adoption of Children Act 1964-1989 in certain particulars and for another purpose" (Act no.8/1990) is concerned with the 'maintenance' of children and guardianship as well as custody of children. This amendment was repealed by Statute Law Revision Act 1995 (Act No.57) on 29 November 1995.
