This amendment with the full title "An Act to Amend "The Aboriginals Protection and Restriction of the Sale of Opium Act 1897, and for other purposes"(2. Edw. VII No.1) commencing of the 3rd of May 1902 sets out regulations regarding the employment, residential location and rules for interactions between Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander peoples and European settlers. These arrangements include support payments from the European fathers of children with Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander mothers. This amendment relates directly to the Aboriginals Protection and Restriction of the Sale of Opium Act of 1897 (Act no. 61 Vic. No. 17). This amendment was repealed in 1939 along with the Aboriginals Protection and Restriction of the Sale of Opium Act of 1897 (Act no. 61 Vic. No. 17). Despite the title of this amendment it makes no mention of Opium. This amendment was also itself amended in 1934 by the Aboriginals Protection and Restriction of the Sale of Opium Acts Amendment Act 1934 (25 Geo.V No.38)
