The Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is an order within the Roman Catholic Church, founded in France in 1874. The order was founded in Australia at Botany in 1885. In 1886 the Sisters went to Thursday Island and in 1914 the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart were founded in Queensland. They ran St Henry's Roman Catholic Asylum, Hammond Island Mission Orphanage and Cooyar Mission.
