The Xavier Home for Crippled Children, in Coorparoo, operated from 1949 to 1994. It was run by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. In reponse to changing Government policies, Xavier changed from an institutional model of care to a community based model of care in 1994. It was then re-named Xavier Children's Support Network.
