Records

Subject matter in the General Correspondence includes: the appointment or transfer of Water Police attached to the reformatory (during the period when the reformatory was located aboard the Hulk "Proserpine"), arrangements for official guests, transfer of boys to orphanages, and requisitions.

Researchers should note that correspondence in this series relating to the hiring-out of boys from the Reformatory does not relate to specific boys, but rather to requests received from members of the public (some as far away as Longreach) for boys suitable for employment. Most requests came from farmers.
