Details
Leslie Tooth Home, in Manly, was operated by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It was named after the Grand Master of the I.O.O.F at the time the Home was established in 1921. The Home was licensed under the State Children Act 1911, and gazetted 25 January 1923. According to Missing Pieces (2001), it was not the intention of the Department or the governing body of the institution that State children be placed in the home. It closed in 1931.
According to the publication Missing Pieces, no information has been identified about who may have records from the Leslie Tooth Home. However information from the Annual Reports of the State Children Department reveal that no State wards were ever placed in the home.
