The United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Australia (UELCA) was established in 1921 when a number of small Lutheran Synods joined together to form a separate arm of the Church. In 1926, the group was joined by some members of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Australia. UELCA ran the Hermannsburg Mission. In 1966 UELCA joined with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Australia (ELCA) to become the Lutheran Church of Australia.
