Description

Inside: Life in Children's Homes and Institutions is a blog based on personal histories of the Forgotten Australians, Former Child Migrants and all those who experienced institutional care as children. It was created to provide a space for the voices of those who were inside and a chance for others to understand.

This blog was part of the development of the Inside exhibition and the stories, photos, artwork, poems, songs, articles and comments posted on it formed part of the exhibition. Both of these projects were funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, as part of the Forgotten Australians: Our History project. Inside was exhibited at the National Museum of Australia from November 2011 until February 2012.
