Uniting the Mission tells the story of the people, processes and agencies who were involved in creating UnitingCare West. It gives an insight into how church values influenced the process, which had to be a true merger not a 'takeover'. Beresford interviewed 64 people between November 2009 and July 2010, asking them to reflect not only on the process but also on what they now considered the outcomes. Key events in the journey are also covered, starting with the establishment of the Uniting Church in 1977. There is an extensive literature review and bibliography.
