Description
The new Directory of Social Agencies issued by the Board of Social Study and Training of N.S.W. reveals an extraordinary amount of social welfare work in Sydney.
The directory is the first of its kind to be published in this State, and is a definite step towards co-ordinating local social work.
A study of the section, Family and Adult Welfare shows that there are no less than 80 relief societies operating in Sydney.
There are 25 homes and refuges, 16 church or private homes, and 21 hostels for students, men and boys, or women and girls.
