Description
A new extension to the Salvation Army's hospital for mothers, Bethesda, Victoria-road, Marrickville, was opened yesterday afternoon by Lady Stonehaven. The hospital has been in existence since 1911, and the heavy demand upon its accommodation necessitated the building of an extra wing. Sixty mothers and 40 infants can now be housed in the enlarged building, and a sterilising-room and fully-equipped plant have also been installed to the most modern methods of treatment for the patients.
