Description
In this entry, historian Neville Green states that 'missions were committed to weaning Aboriginal children away from their home beliefs and preparing them for an assimilated lifestyle as servants and labourers. Neville identifies four types of institutions for Indigenous people in WA: 'settlements; ration depots; orphanages; and at least thirty missios'
