Description
This is the story of a mother, Marie Corrigan, whose child William John (Willy) was taken from her in 1879 'due to neglect'. This reproduces letters from Marie Corrigan to William John and and to "the authorities". They were reprinted in the 1884 annual report of the Department of Industrial and Reformatory Schools.. The original letters are in the collection of Public Record Office Victoria (VPRS 1226 Supplementary Inward Registered Correspondence)
