Description
In this interview, Margaret Somerville discusses her work as a cottage mother at the Croker Island Mission. She talks about the living conditions at the mission, its evacuation to Otford in New South Wales during the second World War, and subsequent return to Croker Island. She also talks about some of the children she cared for, and her views on institutional care. The Somerville Cottage Homes in Darwin were named after her.
