'Major returns to manage old home' is an illustrated article from the Daily News. The article includes an image of Major Jack Sumsion and Mrs Winnie Sumsion, with boys from the Village. The item reports that Major Sumsion was sent to the Salvation Army Home at Box Hill, Victoria, as a 9 year old and that he would be returning there as manager. It says that Major Sumsion came to WA in 1943 and later managed the Mt Lawley Youth Hostel (Withnell House) and (for four years) the Hollywood Children's Village. A typed caption reads, '1964 - these boys went into David Jones Store each morning, Monday-Friday for 2 weeks before Christmas to sing carols.' It is not known whether the boys pictured were part of the choir.
