This website provides history and information about some institutions for children: Balcombe House, which was the William Thompson Masonic School (Masonic Orphan Schools), Burnside Homes and Castle Hill House.

This page includes links to maps, virtual tours of each site, fact sheets about the properties, a movie of William Thompson Masonic School and interviews with former residents of both homes, and staff members. The site contains many photographs.

There are six interviews about William Thompson Masonic School and five about Burnside Homes. The interviews are transcribed, and audio is also provided so people can listen to the interviews.
