Description
Article promoting foster care that describes the reasons children were taken into foster care by the Child Welfare Department, including explaining the Children's Court process and the process of selecting foster carers.

The article stated there were 100 children placed in foster care each year in New South Wales. Child Welfare Department director RH Hicks states that the Department's first objective was to 'get the home going properly again' with the help of trained social workers as 'the best way for a child to grow up is with its own family'.
