This cataolgue entry gives a brief overview of the role of the Chief Secretary's Department in WA, and lists the records which are held at the State Records Office of Western Australia (SRO). The records cover the period 16 April 1924 to 23 March 1983. Records include a wide range of matters relating to Departmental reports, administration files and correspondence. A number of records relating to Aboriginal matters were held by the Chief Secretary's Department.
