'A Splendid Service' is an article from the Sunday Times. Written by 'Quandong', it is an uncritical, lyrical description of life and conditions at the Ugly Men's Association's Unemployed Boys' Farm, Bundidup, at Wokalup. Articles of this type were common, and served the dual functions of assuring citizens that children in institutions were being well looked after, and promoting the aims of institutions to potential donors.
