The Lochiel Park Community Unit was the new name given to the Lochiel Park Boys' Training Centre at Hill Street, Campbelltown, when it converted to community living in 1995. Run by the Department for Family and Community Services, the Unit was also known as The Lodge. It provided accommodation for State children with intellectual disabilities.
Community Units provided longer term accommodation and support for children in State care, including those with intellectual disabilities. Generally, Units took in up to eight children aged between eight and upper teens. The Units often assisted young people to transition to living independently.
The Lochiel Park Community Unit was still operating in 2008, but in 2013 it was redeveloped into a new ecologically sustainable residential area.
