The Australian Board of Mission (ABM) was established in Sydney in 1850 by the then Church of England in Australia. It aimed to meet the material, social and spiritual needs of indigenous communities in Australia and overseas. The Australian Board of Mission ran St Francis House in conjunction with the Church of England, from 1946 to 1959. In 1995 it became known as the Anglican Board of Mission - Australia.
