Youth Care was an accommodation and support program for young people aged 15-25, in up to six houses in the Perth metropolitan area. It was run by Centrecare until 1990 when Youth Care was absorbed into the general placement services run by the Catherine McAuley Centre.
Youth Care was established by Centrecare as an accommodation and support service for young people aged 15-25 years, in six houses in metropolitan Perth. In 1989, Youth Care was described as providing medium to long-term support in four houses, with live-in youth workers. Attached to Youth Care was an inner-city non-residential facility, providing support and counselling.
In 1990, the Catherine McAuley Centre took over the management of Youth Care and it became part of that organisation’s general supported accommodation placement program.
