Details

This register contains details of wages collected by the Queensland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty for the work of female state wards who were hired out to employers. The payments were held by the society, and were payable to each child upon their leaving state care. Information in this register includes name and age of the girl, name and address of her guardian, her term of employment, rate of payment per week, how frequently payment is due, total amount of payment collected, when paid, and other remarks, e.g. if the girl was discharged from her duties and dates of account closures. At the start of the register are indexes of children listed within, and an index of employers. It is not clear if this register relates to children from a specific Home or institution.
