The Register of Applicants, Series ID 16527, relates to the Rockhampton Receiving Depot. This register lists applicants who wished to hire out the services of children at the Depot.The applicant’s name and address is given, the applicant’s religion, the date the application was received, whether male or female and any remarks. Comments include: location of the home, whether an applicant was unsuccessful, whether the home would be suitable or unsuitable. The first part of the register also provides information on children in hospital, boarded out etc. An index by the name of the applicant is at the front of the register; an index listing an applicant’s name according to the religion of the child is also provided at the back of the register.
