This image was published in The Brisbane Courier on 11 November 1922, p. 19, with the article ‘Aged People’s Home’. It shows the building that was previously the Brisbane Industrial School.
This library catalogue states the image was copied and digitised from an image appearing in the Sunday Truth, 28 February 1932, p. 11.
This description was supplied with the photograph and included in the library catalogue: Lamington nurses quarters is at the back left of the photograph, with Wattlebrae or Lowson House on the right. The centre building housed Wards 16 and 14.
This image was published in The Courier-Mail on 13 December 1937, p. 15, with the article ‘Spirit of Christmas Marks Services’. It included the caption: Smiling faces greeted the photographer at the opening of the Catholic Daughters’ Association’s holiday home at Sandgate yesterday. These children were evidently determined to make the most of their holiday.
