Details

The Miralee Reception Centre records held by the Victorian Government comprise a number of records series with information about children who stayed at Mildura/Miralee Reception Centre and the departmental administration of the institution.

Access Conditions

Restricted Access – Records containing personal or private information about children are closed to public access for a period of 99 years. Care Leavers (and their families) can apply for access to records via the Care Leaver Records Service.

Records

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing holds a number of records series with information about residents of Miralee Reception Centre and the departmental administration of the institution.

The collection includes:

Admissions, discharges, weekly census and placements, 1964-1986 (Public Record Office Victoria registration number VPRS 17952)
Child case history files, 1977-1991, 1986-1994 (Public Record Office Victoria registration number VPRS 17951)
Intake Assessment and Treatment Files (case management files specific to Lang Kal Kal and separate to the Department’s green coloured Male Trainee Case History Files) , 1970-1992 (Public Record Office Victoria registration number VPRS 17957)
