The Marriage Act 1842 (No. 5 Vict., 1842, No.12) was passed on 22 March 1842 and commenced on 1 June 1842. Its full title was: An Act for regulating Marriages in the Province of South Australia. It was amended by the Marriage Act 1852 (No 18 of 15 and 16 Vic, 1852), Quaker Marriages Act 1862 (No 4 of 25 and 26 Vic, 1862), and Quaker Marriage Act 1864 (No 7 of 27 and 28 Vic, 1864). The Act was repealed by the Marriage Act 1867 on 1 March 1868.
