The Infant Life Protection Act Amendment Act 1918 had the full title “An Act to Transfer the Powers and Duties of the Commissioner of Police under ‘The Infant Life Protection Act of 1905’ to the Director State Children Department.” This amendment transferred the powers and duties of the Commissioner of Police to the Director, State Children’s Department on 1 November 1918. This amendment act was repealed in 1966 by the Children’s Services Act 1965 (Act no. 42/1965).
