Hillside Training Home for Girls was established in Ormond House in Paddington in March 1919 by the State Children’s Relief Department. It was a home that trained girls aged 10 to 14 in domestic service.
In 1919, the home briefly closed so it could be used for people who had the Spanish Flu, during the influenza epidemic.
Hillside Training Home appears to have closed in 1923 when the State Children’s Relief Board became the Child Welfare Department and its activities were moved from Ormond House.
