Disability Services - Disability SA

Details

Disability Services is part of Disability SA which is a government department created in 2006 to assist and provide support services for people with disabilities. The Intellectual Disability Services Council and Julia Farr Service were absorbed into this new department. The aim of Disability SA was to bring together all services for people with disabilities under the control of one government agency. Disability SA holds records of the Home for Incurables and its successors, the Strathmont Centre, Rua Rua Nursing Home and other services run by the IDSC. By 2019, the work of Disability SA had been integrated into the Department of Human Services and it was no longer a separate agency.
