Correspondence files, Class 5 (British Migrants) contains records created by the Department of Immigration and the Department of the Interior, dating from 1920 to 1957. It is held by the National Archives of Australia. This series contains correspondence files relating to the migration of British subjects to Australia, including the migration of children through Child Migration schemes.
The majority of items in this series are open, and many have been digitised and are available online.

This series contains some files of correspondence between the Department of Immigration and organisations or Homes that participated in child migration schemes, including the Big Brother Movement, Dr Barnardos, The Fairbridge Society, The Catholic Episcopal Migration & Welfare Association, Northcote Farm School, and Scheyville Training Farm.
