These files contain a brief history of the young person and the issues that led to their referral to Stretch-A-Family. They also contain a record of Stretch-A-Family’s involvement with the young person. The following information may be found on a file: name; address at time of admission; date of birth; date of admission; legal status of young person; name and address of guardian; health issues; history of Stretch-A-Family’s involvement; date of placement in foster care (if relevant); name of foster carers; education records; and records of involvement with significant people.

When Stretch-A-Family closed in 2021, it stated that “all records regarding former children and young people who were in the care of Stretch-A-Family have been returned to The NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ)”.
