The Lambeth Palace Library is the library and archive for the Archbishops of Canterbury and the Church of England. It holds a large collection of books and manuscripts relating to the Church of England’s activities in England and overseas. The Lambeth Palace Library holds the collection of the Church of England Record Centre, which officially merged with the library in 2021. The Church of England Record Centre (CERC) held the archive of the central bodies of the Church of England: the Church Commissioners, Archbishops’ Council, National Society and Church of England Pensions Board, as well as the records of their predecessor bodies. The CERC collection dates from 1704 and includes records related to migration and the Anglican Church abroad.
