These are records created by Bidura (also known as Glebe Depot or Metropolitan Girls’ Shelter) that are held by Museums of History NSW (State Archives). The records contain information about children that spent time at Bidura, and include admission and discharge registers, weekly reports, institutional files, and account books.

Access conditions

    These registers record the admission of children to Bidura. They include information such as date of admission, child’s name, date of birth, age, SC 107 number, type of admission (e.g. transfer or leave), from whom received (name and relationship), address, and other relevant information, e.g. if a child was at Bidura only for an overnight stay.
  • Discharge Register, 1976-1977. Reference Number: NRS-21117.
    This register records the discharge of children from Bidura. It includes information such as date of discharge, name, date of birth, SC 108 number, type of discharge (e.g. transfer, leave, or hospital stay), to whom discharged (name and relationship), and address.
  • Admission and Discharge Register, 1975-1977. Reference Number: NRS-21118.
    These registers record the admission and discharge details of children staying at Bidura. The information recorded about admissions includes date of admission, child’s name, date of birth, religion, from whom received, address, and other remarks. The information recorded for discharges is similar, including date of discharge, to whom discharged, address, how placed, and other remarks.
