Details

The Ballarat Reception Centre records held by the Victorian Government comprise a number of records series with information about children who lived at Ballarat/Warrawee Reception Centre and the departmental administration of the Home.

Access Conditions

Restricted Access – Records containing personal or private information about children are closed to public access for a period of 99 years. Care Leavers (and their families) can apply for access to records via the Care Leaver Records Service.

Records

The Victorian government holds a number of records series with information about children who lived at Ballarat/Warrawee Reception Centre and the departmental administration of the Home.

The collection includes:

Admissions, discharges, protection applications, care applications, reports and adoptions correspondence, c1960-1988 (Public Record Office Victoria registration number VPRS 17955)
Child case history files, 1962-1989 (Public Record Office Victoria registration number VPRS 17953)
Photographs, Lisa Lodge and Warrawee, 1970-1990
