These are records created by Anglewood, also known as Burradoo Truant School, and held by Museums of History NSW (State Archives). The records contain information about children that spent time at the school, and include admission registers, a punishment register, and case files.

Access Conditions

Access to these records is currently restricted. In New South Wales, records relating to individuals, such as case files and correspondence are closed to public access for 100 years. Records such as registers and indexes are closed to public access for 80 years.

    These records have not yet been fully processed, and so no further description is available.
  • Punishment Register, 1943-1970. Reference Number: NRS-20619.
    This register records information about children who lived at Anglewood and received punishments at the school. It includes information such as child’s name, date, reason for punishment, names of other children involved (e.g. complainant and witnesses), date of hearing for the misconduct, plea entered, decision made, and corporal punishment inflicted.
  • Institutional files ([1] “B” files), 1959-1974. Reference Number: NRS-14693.
    These two boxes of records consist of institutional case files for children living at Anglewood.
